Patricia Adair Verbanac, 58, of Aurora died April 20, 2012. Patricia was born in Charlottesville, VA on October 30, 1953, the daughter of Frank and Laura (née Wells) Verbanac. She graduated from Augustana College (Rock Island, IL) and Indiana University (IUPUI) with a BA in Biology and BS in Medical Technology. After working as a medical technologist at the Indiana University Hospital, she pursued graduate studies, earning a MS in Microbiology from Ohio State University and the MD degree from Medical College of Ohio in 1987. She completed her residency training in Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University, and practiced in Ohio and Illinois, most recently at Elgin Mental Health Center.Patricia grew up in Decatur, IL and was a long-time member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She treasured her childhood, the unconditional love and support of her parents, as well as larger family gatherings with both the Wells clan in Michigan and the extended Huener family. In addition to enjoying reading and travel, she was an avid participant in the many cultural offerings of metropolitan Chicago. Patricia was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Aurora, IL and was active in their Outreach Ministry. Surviving is her sister, Kathryn Mary Verbanac, brother-in-law Thomas Huener, niece Sarah and nephew Nick of Greenville NC. Family visitation is at 10 am Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church, 3000 Liberty St. Aurora IL with memorial services at 11 a.m. Cremains will be taken to the Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley MI. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be considered to Water Missions International or the Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, Chicago IL.
